Tubing Rules and Recommendations

  • Absolutely NO glass bottles allowed on the river.

You may take a cooler containing beverages (plastic bottles and cans) and a lunch. Tubes are available for such purpose.

  • Please do not bring styrofoam coolers or plastic bags.

Hard, plastic coolers and soft bag ones are ideal. We can fit any practical cooler with a tube, guaranteed.

  • Do not litter on the river!

We want to preserve and protect the ecosystem for future generations to come. There are numerous garbage receptacles along the shores: please take full advantage.

  • Small children and non-swimmers are required to wear a life-jacket.

There are life-jackets on-site but availability is not guaranteed. If you have your own, please bring it with you.

  • Please, do not take anything of importance with you on the water! (ex: keys, large amounts of cash, jewelery, digital cameras, etc...)

You would be surprised at what valuables have been lost in the water! There is a Key Caddy for the safe keeping of your car keys. And our staff doubles as photographers so you can keep your camera safe, and on dry land!

  • Wear adequate footwear.

Flip-flops are functional, but not recommended. Crocs or another sort of secure footwear is excellent.

  • No Stopping/Trespassing on Private Property!

Remember, the river is public but anything beyond its shores is not. The river is lined by a community and residential homes and cottages which are strictly private properties. There is to be absolutely no stopping or trespassing in these areas. Please give this rule the utmost adherence.

  • Please listen to staff advisement's and recommendations for a safe and happy tubing experience!

We are just starting our 15th summer as a business, but we have been tubing on this river our entire lives. We have worked out a kink or two, so please trust us!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is tubing?

Tubing is sitting in the center of an inner tube and lazily floating your way down the Little Southwest River, which flows into the famous Miramichi River. It is a great way to beat the heat of summer and enjoy nature from a beautifully unique perspective.

It is a perfect activity for many and here are some examples of true instances: Family Reunions, Church Group Outings, Birthday Parties, Staff Parties, Bachelor/Bachelorette Parties, Couples Anniversaries, Newlyweds/Honeymooners, Graduation Celebrations, or simply 'just because'!

We've seen tubers from all over the globe as well!
Norway, England, South Africa, America, Ireland, China, India, just to name a few, and from every single Province and Territory in Canada!

Is there an age minimum or maximum for tubing?

There is not a minimum/maximum age for people to go tubing. It is one activity that does not age discriminate; The very young and very old alike (and everyone in between) can enjoy tubing!

Should I go barefoot?

You can, but it is not recommended. The river and its shores are not sandy and is mostly all rock bottom, which can be rough on the feet. Secure footwear (not flip-flops) are recommended.

How will I get back up to my vehicle at the starting point?

When finish the tubing trip at the finish point (at the bridge) there will be shuttles traveling back up to the starting point every few minutes. These will drive to the starting point where you can collect your keys from the key caddy and obtain your vehicle.

My friend is expecting a baby, can she still go tubing?

It is a very common occurrence for expectant mothers to go tubing. We see it all the time and most importantly, their smiles when they get off the river.

Are you closed when it rains?

No, we do not close when it rains. You may use your own judgement in this regard. We do not however allow people to go out on the river during severe electrical storms and when the water level is too high to be safe (which occurs after heavy rainfall, as it is not a tidal river). Always give a call before traveling a long distance to find out our status. We are mostly open during the summer months, but there are extenuating circumstances occasionally that cause a closure. We're out in the glory of nature and at the mercy of its elements, what can we say?

Why am I not allowed to take glass bottles?

The reasoning is simple behind this rule: glass breaks. It is unsafe for you and other tubers who want to enjoy the river without injury.

Can persons with disabilities go tubing?

Of course they can and they will almost certainly enjoy it! We will do everything within our power to accommodate persons with disabilities to make it an utmost comfortable experience for them.

I am a person of very tall/short stature. Is there a tube for me?

You bet! We have dozens of various sized tubes to accommodate many shapes and sizes.
